Confessions of a One-Track Mind

Right now, at this particular moment in time, I'm feeling supremely contented with my life. Some of it stems from little things: I dug up a section of my front flower bed and threw down some zinnia seeds. One of the hydrangeas is boasting some fuzzy green baubles that suggest they may eventually become flowers. The tidy white rack in my hallway (as opposed to two boxes full of IDK) with the happy picture of a Victorian house on the wall above it. The octagonal stained glass shade that I've had for ten years and had a brainstorm to try on my "new" bedroom floor lamp and which looks like a colorful glass crazy quilt. Small victories.

The chat I had this afternoon with GK, wherein she placed a bid for a digital camera for me as an early 50th birthday present (with luck, I'll have it in time for the Sand Art Festival). Big honking triumph, unless she's outbid.

And...a couple weeks ago I mentioned something in the wind that I didn't want to jinx---well, it's happened, so now I can say: I HAVE A LAPTOP!!! Thanks to sbjb and her preference for all things MacIntosh, I have the indefinite loan of a dandy HP laptop* with a huge screen, tons of memory and its own happy little carrying case. This is a great, big honking triumph...now all I have to do is clear some space on my desk, and/or get a wireless router.

I have a feeling I'll be sprouting extension cords in every room. I'll finally be able to do a proper inventory of my DVDs! And I wouldn't be surprised if this accelerated the progress of transforming my office into a boudoir---no longer being tied to a desk!---although again, wireless router. Hmm, must check prices, especially on Amazon, since I still have a Christmas present from socialhermit....
