About 24 hours left at Chez C. I'll miss the air-conditioning. I won't miss the rock-hard bed. I love the neighborhood and the location, I miss the sense of "It's my home, I can do whatever I want.". (Like playing with the crafting supplies, of which there are much here. *whimper*) My kitchen is a third the size of this one, but I'm too intimidated to do much cooking. And it will be good to be back at my own desk.

I did duck home the other day to check my mail...there was a "please call" notice about a foreign-registered package. This proved to be a goodie bag from [livejournal.com profile] kukkurkurat: Hair jewelery and a manicure kit and a book and a notebook* and a pretty card. Yay! It FINALLY got through customs---the card is dated January. (Thank you, Sweetie!)

Lengthy schmooze with Mb last night; she has quit Ahab. His dementia has gotten more pronounced; he's accused her of theft and since he can't remember what he had for lunch, claims that he hasn't been fed. She's sacrificed herself for the last 10 months taking care of him and his affairs, and she's DONE. About damn time, I say. I've missed my Mb!

Interesting things also going on with J---T has given us Susie's clothes, which we're to sell on eBay and split the profit, and all her ceramics. Susie was never what I'd call a clothes horse; I'm not holding my breath about that stuff, but the ceramics?! Kiln, pouring table, molds, greenware, bisque, glazes and underglazes---it's basically everything you'd find at a commercial ceramics studio, but in this case, it's taken over a two-car garage, a sunporch, and a backyard shed.

A friend of hers used to have a ceramics business, and is going to advise us. We're hoping to sell to local studios, possibly take orders for custom dog bowls at some of our events---and it's been a few years since I've done anything ceramic, since Susie wasn't active---I'm just looking forward to playing with paints and mud. The three of us went over there yesterday to take a look...the two surviving schnauzers went berserk for the first 20 minutes or so that we were there, then settled down.

The place definitely has the look of a domicile of a lone male, batching it. Poor T. He's in his mid-50s, and this is his first real loss. (His parents and sibs are all alive and kicking.) He and Susie were together for 30 years. By contrast, I met her in 1982---but I had experience with loss even before that---my mom having died in 1976. I miss the person Susie used to be, before the pills took over. She could be exasperating at times, but damn, she was fun, too.

We get a fresh SPN tonight, huzzah.

It's been a mellow week. Hit the food pantry Monday morning and the library after...got a stack of books that I've been reading my way through. Evanovich, "Wicked Appetite", "The Nero Wolfe Cookbook" (A nice reminder of the series, but WAY too rarefied for my tastes.) and a Todd McCaffrey. I've also set my tree up, though it's not trimmed yet.

UPS delivered goodies sent by [livejournal.com profile] kukkurkurat, namely some LUSH Ultimate Shine shampoo, which smells incredible. The copy for it says, "Lovely smelling ylang ylang oil makes dull hair shiny; we've even added little bits of glitter to increase the dazzling effects. Beautiful violet leaf to decongest scalp and toning elemi oil calms nerves." I don't know what ylang-ylang or violet leaves smell like---I mean, I know what violets smell like, but the leaves?! IDK.---but the shampoo? Smells like Christmas trees! Fabulously intense. I walk into the bathroom and am surrounded by fir trees.

They also sent a couple trial size bits of soap, Sandstone, which smells like lemon verbena (or Lemon Pledge, if you don't have a frame of reference for lemon verbena). The other is called Alkmaar, which my nose insists is sweet talcum powder and chalkdust, although the site alleges "creamy sexy jasmine and honeysuckle scent with smokey vetivert undertones". Tho' I didn't say I didn't like it!

As if that wasn't lovely enough, GK sent me a couple of great shirts. Both are lightweight gauzy cotton. One is a green-on-green floral print with silver thread sparkling in it. It's missing a couple buttons, but goodness knows, I've got a plethora of replacements and it'll take all of 20 minutes to fix. The other is a pull-on top in a tribal print in shades of brown. It has sort of a sweetheart neckline trimmed with a goldish braid trim.

We're having a cool-down; the weather report says it's a bit low for this time of year: They're saying tonight's low is going to be in the low 40s/high 30s. Brrr! But I've got a nice accumulation of long-sleeved stuff that I picked up after last winter's Big Chill.

And now back to my [livejournal.com profile] yuletide story, already in progress....

The weather today was absolutely gorgeous...bright blue sky with a few puffy clouds, so [livejournal.com profile] missybrat and I went swimming in the pool over at Kat's mobile home park. Used sunblock on my top half, but my thighs are pink and tender. Worth it, though.

I love floating; I can do it for-damn-near-ever. Which is why my thighs are in the condition they're in---you can also see some strap marks on my bodice-flesh. The water was tepid, but it felt great when I got out and let the wind cool and dry me. ([livejournal.com profile] missybrat was shivering. Wimp!)

My swimsuit dates back to July, 1999, and I noticed as I was pulling it on that the elastic is begining to creak ominously. I think it's time for a new one. Too bad---I like that suit. It's a basic black one-piece with a silver metallic dragonfly highlighting my cleavage.

On the way home, we detoured so I could look at a Camaro at the side of the road. It was a '92, good looking---and 3 grand, which is about a decimal point higher than my budget. Alas!

[livejournal.com profile] kukkurkurat and I are collaborating on a fic...and it's not even one of the unfinished ones I mentioned yesterday. On the other hand, it's fun. GK and I used to tag-team stories, back in the day.

Last but not least, some vid pimpage. The embedding was disabled, or I'd've posted it as a stand-alone, here and at [livejournal.com profile] singer_salvage. It's a video tribute to Bobby, and it's made of awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jQjV8weAo8

Rating/Work-safeness: I wouldn't, really. And if you're squeamish? That goes double for you.

Summary: To continue to work through my squicks, I wrote this demon-rape-mpreg-with-hints-of-Wincest as a gift for the adorable [livejournal.com profile] kukkurkurat's birthday. I was aided and abetted---er, beta'ed---by [livejournal.com profile] starhawk2005, who pointed out some inconsistancies and summed it up with, "Gross, but me likey." Quelle relief! Hope you like it, too!
