Life is good!
Mar. 11th, 2009 02:45 pmI've been quiet for the last few days because there's been a lot going on behind the scenes and I didn't want to jinx it, but now I can jubilantly announce that my property taxes are paid! ALL of them, back taxes and current. I owe the C's payments over the next few years, and I've solemnly sworn to start channeling money into savings for next year's taxes, but I'm no longer contemplating the possibility of living in my car.
To celebrate, I'm going out to get a haircut in a little while---first one since the grand shearing last July!---and I'm so relieved I'm giddy. (I've spent the last few weeks lying awake at night fretting about the money, not to mention perpetual low-grade indigestion.) Now, if I can just get the roof fixed and find a decent affordable car, I'll be completely delirious!
I also have a fic being betaed---I know!---I've been trying to get away from fanfic, but somebody has to counter all the emo!Rorshach wank going on over in The Watchmen fandom. It felt good to have an idea that I was actually moved to write, as opposed to over-thinking and doing nothing.
