The C's have Star Trek Reboot. Heh. I watched it Tuesday night, then today I took it over to J's and let her order us pizza and watched it again. She loved it, loved it, loved it, and she's way more of a Trekkie than I was.

I confess to being old enough to have watched TOS before it went into syndication, and yes, it did inspire the first fan-fiction I ever wrote, although NOT slash. I saw the first few movies at the theater---Wrath of Khan multiple times---but I didn't watch the reruns incessantly and sat through subsequent series only when in the presence of those who were devout. I admit it---the only reason I ran out to see Reboot in theaters was Zachary Quinto.

Now, though, I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to survive without my own copy, or for that matter, until a sequel arrives.

CapeGypsy and her hub proved that the back of a Hyundai will hold 165 gallons of trash when they hauled off three bagzillas full.

I'm disturbingly close to having 55 gallons of aluminum cans---most of them crushed---and a similar quantity of plastic bottles, some squashed, some not. I'm going to see if I can assemble another bagzilla that they can get on Sunday after church---aside from the plastics. (The cans I'll recycle and save the bag.)

I've been working in what's currently my office---swept quite a few cans out from behind the file cabinet and about 8 gallons of crap plus more bottles. That doesn't include the crap INSIDE the file cabinets, the laundry basket full of papers, the shelves or the closet.

And I know, I should probably focus on one room at a time, but I never said I was logical.

Speaking of which, I'm having fantasies about Trek Reboot wherein there's a threesome: Uhura and Saavik screw Spock into bemused exhaustion, then go at each other. (And I'm not thinking Kirstie Alley, either. Sorry, Kirstie!)

SPN killed me. Oh, boys! I feel an urge to make an aspirin run to SD---poor Bobby! And "ass-reamed in Heaven"?! Sounds deliciously filthy. At the moment, Cas, I'd say you deserve it. *coughAnnacough* Unfortunately, I don't have a frame-advance function on my DVR, so I'm not sure who was who in a scene I'm not going to describe because some people are funny about trailers. But I don't *think* it was Bobby....

Star Trek---Holy wow, I want to have Spock's babies! (Sorry, Leonard, but I never had *that* reaction before.) ZQ has always been awesome, but this?! I think some of those big honkin' Dolby explosions were my ovaries. Shazam! The new Kirk was also more to my taste than Shatner. Ditto Uhura---although wtf is with the trend for false eyelashes lately? I noticed it first with poor Malin Akerman in The Watchmen---flutter them and the butterfly effect goes wild---they can practically cause their own weather system.

Plot? Yes, there was one. No, it didn't go into any great moral or ethical debates, didn't debate the human (or Vulcan) condition---it was a sweet thrill ride that produced the usual suspects with panache. For anyone who went in there ignorant of the usual suspects, they were all given solid introductions. Okay, so Chekov looks nothing like Walter Koenig. And there was a Heroes ep that featured someone cast as Hiro's dad who made a much more believable young George Takei. Bones and Scotty, though, were both terrific fun.

Without giving too much away, they really did reinvent the franchise. At least two non-crew canon charecters buy the farm. That and a certain time paradox mean that this is NOT your daddy's Trek---not in a bad way, just different. The f/x were gonzo. I want MORE. It's showing at the IMAX at KSC---I have GOT to see it there!

Headed over to StormValkyrie's house-warming party---otherwise, I probably would've snuck into Wolverine---had a nice time, came home, caught some TV. God, I miss having normal hours! I work a regular shift tomorrow, but have Harper's Island to look forward to.

Technically, tomorrow is supposed to be the full moon. And yet, it felt like Thursday was. What next?!
