Confessions of a One-Track Mind

Got lectured this morning by the dentist...haven't been to her in about two years, most recent dental visit was the office in Melb. by where I work. This one, oddly, is two doors down from where I used to work. Perhaps the next time I'm job hunting I should pick a dentist as Ground Zero and expand my search from there---?

As I suspected, my options are: 1, spend a buttload of money I don't have for a root canal and crown, or 2, have it out. And it's looking like OUT, because if I DID have a buttload of money, which I don't, I'd put it toward taxes or another car.

However, she wrote me a couple scrips, which I'm trying to figure out how to finance. HR at work hasn't returned my call asking who's in charge of our RX benefits, which is slowing things down. I can probably wait til Friday for the painkillers, but the sooner I get the antibiotics, the less I'll need the painkillers. (Of course, I'll fill it anyway, because they're so useful to have on hand...like last weekend.)

Anyway, enough about my teeth.

I'm just going to quietly curl into a fetal position now...today was "hump day" for me, both in the sense of the mid-point of my week, and in the sense of an unsatisfactory fuck. Between assholes in traffic and assholes on the phone, I'm having a Spaceballs moment: I'm surrounded by assholes!

The enamel on the inside of one of my front teeth is eroding. Crap. My dental coverage can't kick in too soon!

The one good thing that happened was, I got to work early enough to cruise Goodwill, and got a great batik Wild Woman jacket. I have a woven one, courtesy of AI via the last clothes swap, which I adore---that one goes well with shades of maroon, rose and plum. This one is deliciously earthtoned, and will harmonize with tans, rusts, browns, beiges, etc. It cost me all of $4.99, which is probably about 10% of its original cost...I think I'm going to pair it with my sand-colored sleeveless dress. That ought to work well.

I have no energy left. I'm going to bed now. *yawn*
