Aug. 19th, 2007 01:31 pmYesterday, one of the young ladies with whom I work (she's 25, I think), was nibbling on something at her desk, and asked the row as a whole, "Are pickles good for you?"
Remembering back to the days when Weight Watchers permitted them as an unlimited food group, I said, "Well, cucumbers are good for you, although the salt is a little iffy."
And she says, "Pickles are cucumbers?"
"Yes, the same way raisins used to be grapes. They had a little help evolving."
"Oh."
*headdesk* Twenty-five and doesn't know pickles are well-preserved cucumbers? Oy vey! I despair of the younger generation, I really do....
