The Job (End of week one)
Nov. 19th, 2006 10:30 amSurprisingly, last night was VERY quiet. I'd expected Saturday evening to be a lot busier, but even though there were only about a half-dozen of us---mostly newbies from our class---it wasn't that intense.
I've only had one really hostile caller...a couple who grumbled---I can handle grumbling and bitching without a twitch, but hostile? I want to read them the riot act about manners, which of course, I can't. And after being cussed at all day long about billing, one c*nt with an attitude is nothing, really.
The thing that really makes me insane are the ones who spend ten minutes giving me their order info, then backing out at the last minute. *bitch-slap!* Or when the system spits it back because of some credit card issue or something. I keep losing all my best orders to bullshit like that! Seriously---my sales would've been a couple thousand dollars higher if the damn credit card software didn't keep fucking them up.
But on the whole, it almost doesn't seem like work. Compared to some of the crappy jobs I've had, this is cream tea and scones. I can do friendly and enthusiastic REAL good.
Like they say: The secret to success is sincerity---once you can fake that, you've got it made.
