I'm feeling a mild sense of accomplishment; after spending most of my crafting time over the last few weeks working on stuff for everyone else, this afternoon I sat down and did something for myself. I took one of the glass buttons from the treasure trove Kay sent me and fashioned it into a ring with most of the remaining 20-gauge silver wire. The button is very Art Deco, a rectangle divided into three diagonal sections: triangles top and bottom and a diagonal parallelogram in the middle. The triangles are silver, everything else is black. It's very elegant!

How I did it... )

Had a nice time at Big Bad Boss Lady's party last night...I stuck to cranberry juice and kept my mouth shut for the most part. This woman having taken exception to my sense of humor in the past, I didn't want to inadvertantly piss her off. Everyone else was on good behavior as well...that's probably the tamest I've ever seen those gals!

Her house is gorgeous--my major problem with it is that it's in one of those neighborhoods that's a maze of twisting streets and cookie-cutter houses with zero lot lines--it *does* have lovely tile floor with swirls of color in the tile, a wide-open kitchen, plant ledges overhead and high ceilings... *le sigh* While the decor isn't quite what I'd go for if I had her kind of budget (She spent more on artwork than I did on my whole living room, I swear to God!), it was very classy and elegant.

Now when she talks about going home and doing such-and-such, I'll have a visual. (At least of the interior--I still couldn't describe it to you from the outside or tell you how to get there!)
