This is the latest I've been awake in a while. Long day. Took the advice on the news last night and voted late morning. Their logic was that most people would be trying to get in before or after work; I got there around 11. Not much of a wait at all---it took me longer to mark the danged four-page ballot than it did to get my ballot and stand in line for a booth.

Got compliments on my cloche, to which I'd pinned my jaunty silver donkey. I've had that little guy for close to fifteen years, and I still remember when and where I got him: It was a sunny Saturday afternoon. Yard sale on North Tropical Trail, a corner lot. The gal had a LOT of jewelry.

Discovered to my great delight that there was a wifi signal out in the parking lot, so I sat there for quite a while (like, two hours) checking my email and updating my apps. Gave me a chance to watch the turnout, which was steady.

Have had a headache all day, made worse by tension, talking heads and sobbing out of sheer relief at the outcome. I'm fixing to crawl into bed and sleep until the hellhounds wake me.

I never did get that pork cooked; I made myself a plate of eggs when I got in, and that's been pretty much it all day.

Ahh...I slept til almost nine this morning. Woke to a sunshiny day and the knowledge that good has triumphed over evil. All's well.

I had breakfast, and now I've got the pork project simmering on the stove. Just tried a nibble. Mmm, good. Should be scrumptuous over pasta. (I don't like the look of those rolls.)

I scanned next week's Publix ads, since I'll have my food stamps toward the end of their run. There's a BOGO on my prefered bread, deals on canned biscuits, Monterey Jack cheese from the deli, boneless skinless chicken breasts, lunch meats, Fig Newtons, and a few other goodies. (Including Mb's Christmas present, which is something I *can* get with FS.)

Now that the elections have concluded, the holidays will commence in earnest. I ran across a book of first class stamps, and need to check with the post office to see if I'll need additional postage with them. So it looks like I'll be able to send out cards after all. I need to do an address round-up....

I'd better go stir! TTFN.
