GK got back to me with the pix she took when she was here last month. God knows I love her dearly, but I sure hope she never has to earn a living at fashion photography or portraiture, cos it is NOT her forte. Out of a half-dozen pix of me, this is the only one that's decent. It was taken on the walkway outside her motel room overlooking the pool.

The top is poly---a bit warm, but cute. The black skirt is my favorite---there's a little ruffle at the hem. The icon is a close-up of the tatt, if you're interested. My shoes are off because we spent the morning haunting Goodwill and my feet were killing me.

[livejournal.com profile] sbjb, this one's for you---

I TOLD you it was yellow.
(And that was indoors. In crappy light.)

You look very cute! That's such a nice outfit.

Dr. Bizarre is well-named. That is some kinda hairdo he's got going there -- like maybe he survived a dreadful accident with a pot of curry?

Thanks! I'm just sorry that none of the shots of the fabulous polka-dot dress came out. That's the one I got early this summer and it's really been my go-to piece since then.

Dr B is self-christened. Over the years, his hair HAS been every color of the rainbow, and sometimes multi-colorred, as when he showed up for his mom's 60th birthday party with it red, orange and yellow. It looked like his head was on fire.

You'd think he bites the heads off small mammals in his spare time, but he's really very funny, well-spoken and sweet.

What was his mom's reaction -- or is she used to that by now? Maybe someone will get a shot of the fabulous polka-dot dress for you to post.

I can take great photos of other people, but am not a good portrait subject myself due to thinking about the light. I always look quite stern! And as you can see from the icon, I take lousy self-portraits. :D

Kat's quite used to it---this is rather toned down from the days when he wore fishnets under shorts. There's a general concensus that at 47, he's a wee bit old for such flamboyance.

For a while, I had a one-use camera and tried to do "Outfit of the Day" pix. Unfortunately, the flash in the mirror rendered them mostly useless, but I also wore a focused scowl during the procedure. *sigh* What I love about the fab dotted dress is, it makes me look like the pin-up queen I aspire to be. Some day, I'd like to have one really good photo that looks like the me I think of myself as....

Is that the new short haircut? Does wonders for you, my dear. Cute outfit, too. How you can bear to wear skirts is beyond me; I hate pantyhose and chub rub equally.

I have a headband on in that shot---I'm due a trim. But thanks, it *is* one of the best cuts I've ever had.

I couldn't tell you the last time I wore hose, and I've had thick thighs for so long they're like leather---chub-rub isn't the problem it used to be.

Skirts? In Florida, eight months out of the year, dresses, skirts or shorts are the only sane option.

Skirts, etc., in FLA

Good point. I wonder how I'd fare, living in hotter climes. I don't do shorts, either - haven't the legs for them. We had a heat wave this year and I actually bought some capris.

Seriously, from the time we moved here (when I was 14) until my late 30s, I didn't do shorts. I'd had to wear them---mandatory!---for gym class for years before that, and hated it. I finally got to the point where I said to myself, "Self, who cares how fat your legs are? Roasting in long pants to cover them up---usually long *black* pants---is not going to make them any thinner or you any happier. Be comfortable. Wear shorts." So I did.

Cold weather? Real cold weather? I have become a real Floridian in that respect, IE when the temp goes below 50F, I get very indignant. Although I welcome 65F and below---at that point I can start trotting out things with long sleeves and jackets---I have an absurd number of jackets that may get worn 2-3 times each every year.

You look fab! Love the cute hair and the ruffles on the skirt. Trying to make out the pattern on the top - is that leaves, or paisley, or...? The colors are great, though. :-)

Thank you, sweetie! The pattern is kind of both: They're very swirly, abstract leaves which do look rather paisley. (That's one of the things I like about that top.)

That was taken about a month ago, and I'm hoping I can get my hair trimmed soon. At the moment, it's droopy instead of fluffy.

Hopefully I can get more pix taken at the wedding (10th of next month), CLEARER pix---digital is supposed to be super sharp, but....
