I remember watching a documentary on polar bears, and they mentioned that an adult female polar bear generally weighed about 350 pounds---which was my size at the time---and I made a joke that you had to admire the chutzpah of a gal that size who'd wear all-over white, which would make her ass look huge. But what the hell, it's a variation on that old joke: What does a 350-pound polar bear wear? Anything she wants!
Me too! Because I'm pretty sure that's not a person in a bear suit...so what's Mr. Grizz doing riding the bumper cars? I really want the whole wild, weird, wonderful story.
I looked until I found this pic and the one I found had this caption: Susie, a bear from the Bertram Mills Circus, surprises two passengers in another dodgem car at Olympia, in London, where the circus is performing for Christmas. England, 1954.
What's even more bizarre is the expressions - or lack thereof - on the two guys behind them. They look like they see bears riding dodgem cars every day of the week!

(I love bears anyway, for their stoic wtf-faces and these low slung pants they always seem to wear)

"Hey look, Tommy--there's that bear we saw on the carousel a while ago."
"Are you sure it's the same bear, Matt? I think that one was a little shorter."
