Haven't been out of the house in days....

Got GK's CARE package on Tuesday, simultanelously with an attack of IDK...sleeping sickness? Bitten by a tsetse fly? (Hey, after the poisonous spider bite, nothing would surprise me!) Anyway two and a half days of mostly sleeping, waking to shower and fall back to sleep again. Blergh. I feel like refried shit. Hope I perk up by Monday.

The Nook is fabu. Was a little nonplused to find out that it isn't illuminated, as I'm accustomed to from the iPhone. Still, I've been happily engrossed. I'm currently in the middle of "Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter", which is rather different from the movie---better, I think. At least so far.

In addition to the Nook, GK's flat-rate box also included single-serving cups of chocolate-peanut butter, a small summer sausage, some licorice, a black cami, a dark grey "silk" blouse, a pair of licac pajamas----all of which fit. The PJ's really surprised me in that respect, since the top is 18/20, which I don't claim to be, and the bottoms are 22/24. There's also a handsome square aluminum bowl with a dragonfly perched on it, just the thing for my coffee table.

I'm going to go crawl back into bed now. Have a stellar weekend, y'all!

I know exactly what you going through. I was laid out for four days with a similar mysterious sleeping sickness - it sucked.

Starhubby is interested in getting a Nook -- is it backlit? Because he'll probably be reading it primarily at night, in the dark, as he waits for me to come to bed.

Mine isn't---it's the lower end model. I'm pretty sure the $200 one is, but hey, this one was FREE. There's probably some kind of clip-on light available, and the good thing is, the battery lasts impressively---much more so than my iPhone.

Ah, yes, the 200$ one is probably the one he wants...he doesn't want to futz around with the clip-on. Glad to hear you like yours, though!

Me, too, but I wasn't going to turn down FREE. One of these days, wwhen I'm working again and have disposable income, I'll dispose of $200 for all the bells and whistles. Meanwhile, yeah, it's fun. Especially after I figured out why it was randomly changing pages on me---it was becausse my bangs kept brushing against the screen. My iPhone can distinguish between a finger, a fingernail or hair, but Nook can't.
