Country singer and sausage king Jimmy Dean has gone to the great breakfast table in the sky at age 81. Why am I noting his passing? Well, in addition to writing "Big Bad John"---an old favorite of mine---and making a darn fine pork product, he was almost extended family.

Well, that's if I believe J's grandmother's old stories about how he proposed to her way back when. Who knows, they may be having a torrid reunion in the hereafter.

I wonder if his stone will read, "Here lies a big, big man."...? (Or if they'll go with the original version.)
