Title: When at Night I Go to Sleep
Authored by: [livejournal.com profile] vanillafluffy
Pairing/spoilers: Abby/Gibbs
Approximate word count: 100
Rating/Work-safeness: Erotic overtones, but nothing explicit
Disclaimer: I prefer my caffeine carbonated, it gets into the bloodstream faster.
Summary: Sometimes Abby has trouble falling asleep. When that happens, she has a very detailed daydream that comforts her. Title from a song in the opera 'Hansel and Gretel'.

To lull herself to sleep at night when the day's events have disturbed her, Abby's favorite fantasy is of Gibbs brushing her hair.... )

Today was the usual lunch with Kat, after which I raided my piggy bank and put enough cash in my checking account to cover my FPL bill. Then (I was on a roll), I got "prequalified" for a program that's supposed to help hurricane-proof homes...mind you, that was just answering questions so they'd send me an application. Per them, when I send in said application, I go onto a waiting list for God Knows how long. But it's a start.

More writing, and some TV. Blah, blah, blah, OMG, Heroes )

I have Too Fast Too Furious on in the background---hey, James Remar and Eva Mendez, these are both Good Things. And this weekend I will be seeing the new F&F and enjoying my boy Vin.

GK arrives tomorrow night and we'll be running around on Wednesday. First taking care of some business for Kat, lunch at Cracker Barrel, and at some point, The Watchmen, yay!

Life is good.

Today, BC came over and removed the Toshiba PoS TV that's been taking up space in my room. I'm down to a 9" portable that [livejournal.com profile] sbjb gave me about 15 years ago, which gives me a lot more clearance at the foot of my bed. Yes, I know: It's crappy feng shui. Oh well.

Sorted a few books---I need to do another purge---watched about 4 hours of NCIS, which I've recently gotten into. Nobody ever mentioned it's got Michael Weatherly in it. Or David McCallum. Or Lauren Holly. No, all I ever heard was Mark Harmon, and I've never been a fan of his. But I've adored her ever since Picket Fences, and MW since Dark Angel, and David McCallum FOREVER. Ilya Kuryakin, yum!

Criminal Minds tonight was all kinds of cool. They're setting up some wicked awesome backstory for one of my favorite characters...I've only dabbled in writing that particular fandom, but with enough provocation, I might write more!

I've been in a mellow frame of mind in the wake of yesterday. There is just *one* thing that I've discovered that disconcerts me: our President-elect is YOUNGER THAN I AM. Less than a year, but still. Do not be surprised if, in the future, I make jokes about "that young fellow in the White House".
