I'm on my way to work to find out whether or not I still have a job. Cranberry red shirt, black and white polka-dot skirt, sequinned ruby slippers. Colorful and brave, at least that's the idea.

I'm at the library, and I need to hit the road like, now, so I don't have time to answer any of y'all's encouraging emails. Thanks.

Wish me luck.

They like to torture me. (We all knew that, right?) Anyway, I STILL don't know, supposedly the Powers-That-Be will have a decision tomorrow. I'm trying to maintain calm in the face of it all, and my mantra is, "Hey, at least I get paid for Tuesday!"

That's a Good Thing, since on Tuesday, my muffler tried to fall off after I left the library. I managed to get it wired back up and was only 15 minutes late, but it stressed me more than I needed to be.

But, but, why? Because of your talk time?

Exactly. When I try to protest that surely SALES are what drive the facility, I'm told that we are required to answer calls within a certain length of time and cannot have more than a certain percentage of hang-ups, or we're in breach of contract with our partners and can owe them money and/or they can leave. Mind you, if they weren't so quick to let people go, we'd have the coverage, but god forbid they have to pay a few more people. In what Universe does it make sense to get rid of someone experienced in order to hire someone who doesn't know what they're doing and will take longer? With no guarantee that they'll achieve the level of sales I do? Idjits.

That is TRULY retarded. (Apologies for the not-PC terminology, but this situation is certainly deserving of it)!
