vanillafluffy: (Zzzzz's)
Went to bed (Mb's) and slept an astonishing nine hours under a quilt in glorious air. Just woke up. I apparently slept thru Mb coming in, taking a shower, and dressing to go out. She went, and came back with Bunny, who was here when I wandered happily back to the living room to discover how LATE it is.

SO comfortable. No clue what we're doing this afternoon, but I suspect eventual WalMart.

I'm spending the night at Mb's, settled happily in front of her computer, with the cable remote to hand and the a/c going.

Life is good.

Oodles and oodles of thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ruric and [livejournal.com profile] karaokegal for giving me virtual sugar cookies! What a lovely surprise for an icky Monday morning. We've had cold rain 3 days out of 4 and I am tired of it!
ETA: And one from [livejournal.com profile] strangevisitor7. I feel blessed y'all. (And baffled: I can't even *find* those cookies in the gift shop. ---?!)

[livejournal.com profile] missybrat has a horrible cold/brochial thing going on, and says she's crafting my Christmas gift while sitting on the sofa and hacking. That's okay, I'm sure it won't still be contagious in two weeks.

I'm still all warm-fuzzy-happy about my [livejournal.com profile] xover_exchange fic Trumpets Sound, Walls Fall Down: Part 1 Part 2. It flings a Heroes character into the Jericho post-nuke landscape, and has everything I love in a story: massive action-adventure, plenty of hurt-comfort and a generous ration of slashy subtext. What's not to love?!

There's also plenty of room for more discussion at How do YOU spell pr0n...?

I'm warm and dry and healthy and I have friends who love me. Life is good!

Why I hang out at www.tut.com....

Last night, Fluffy, I was dreaming of you, again.

You were radiant, confident, and light beamed in every direction from the core of your being. Music followed you, angels serenaded you, and everyone was elevated by your presence. Wisdom shone from your eyes. Kindness emanated from your touch. And your power was simply awesome.

You looked, well... pretty much... exactly as you do right now.

Wow,
The Universe

(True, Fluffy, you were wearing a lot of sparkles, but I do know the difference between sparkles and angels.)

I've been feeling well-loved lately. Rather like the Velveteen Rabbit. I've been taken out and fed salmon twice in two days, I've gotten a sweet card, I have an out-of-town trip and a concert to look forward to, and in a little while, I'm going to the big new Goodwill.

Life is shiny.

Aside from a few frustrations, today was a good day. I got to work early enough that I had time to hit Goodwill (Goodwill/payday = bad combination!), and I found an awesome coat. It's a brown-olive 100% wool Italian double-breasted full length coat, definitely trench coat-inspired. $25.99, which was kind of OUCH, but it's a *really* sweet coat. I MUST find a way to get pix! Also got a strand of hematite beads loosely strung on elastic---I will have NO problem recycling them into a cool piece.

Keeping a straight face was problematic at times, because I've found out a few things about the John/Mary story, and it's kept me amused. (Of course, I'm going to have to do some research about the year 1976...I was in high school back in those days; my memory leans more toward fads than specific news stories; that was the Bicentennial, and you couldn't turn around without tripping over red-white-and-blue something.) Following where the bunnies lead is so much fun---once they've gotten my attention, they have a tendency to bolt off on tangents I didn't expect, which is happening here. *smirk*

Also got totally pwned by a caller just before I left---she was interested in a garment from Pelts Leathermore (I can't tell you their real name, sorry!), and while I was looking the style info up, she mentioned that she'd been watching the news. Had I heard about the Pope? (No, ma'am. What about the Pope...?) He's quite ill with bird flu. (Oh dear, how unfortunate---but I'm sure he has the best doctors.) Yes, they've been studying his case, and they think he got it from a cardinal.

Ba-dum-boom....

Life is good!
