The half-dollars took care of my car insurance payment with a smidge left over. Yay! Don't know what I'm going to do at the end of this month, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

I still have an $80 credit with the water department. Thank god, because it's so brutally hot that I'm in the shower constantly. As in, sometimes I get dizzy and have to go sit in there until my core temp goes down. And not even from exertion, today all it took was sitting up in bed.

Made a pan of Ghirardelli brownies last night, embellished with a cup of peanut butter chips. Yum! Haven't had much chocolate lately, so this was a treat. (When that's gone, I'm gonna make a pound cake from the mix GK sent me. Good thing I organized my baking pans, eh?)

Oh, and this afternoon, J had me calling a potential client about a dog. She made an appointment for next week, and J wants me to assist her. (Her usual person is under the weather, but I'll take what I can get, maybe it'll at least cover the cell phone bill for a while.)

I was going to babble about TV for a while, but just don't have te energy. But hey---at least it's finally August. The end *should* be in sight in the next 6-8 weeks.

Aldi's has little chocolate-covered marzipan logs for 99 cents each. Nom nom nom...must not eat them all at once...must not spend bill/gasoline money on them, either.

Very annoying; I had something intended for a house-warming gift for a gal at church sent to Ahab's, since I *thought* I'd be spending more time there. Now it's there and I'm here, and it doesn't look like I'll be getting it in time to give it to her at church this Sunday, unless I want to roughly double the shipping expense, IE, what it would cost to drive down there and back.

I would post a picture of the item, but for some reason, my screen capture isn't working, grrr. Very inconvenient and yes, annoying.

SPN tonight was pretty good...I've been waiting for the show to use the gimmick they did for the MOTW. I'm sorry that we seem to have seen the last of certain people, especially the individual who instigated what was instigated. (Look, I hate to be cryptic, but it's late and I'm not in the mood to fiddle-fart around with cuts. Maybe tomorrow.) Next week is going to be a hoot.

Being in a pissy mood is annoying. Bunch of things bugging me...in addition to the above, I haven't been able to write since, like Yuletide. A few ideas, but nothing that sticks. The whole "poor and unemployed" thing has my head ready to explode, and yes, that includes the Ahab business and some backstory that I'm NOT going to go into, but suffice to say, it's annoying. Feels like I've been thrown under the bus. *sigh*

Then, too, there's the first anniversary of Kat's death on the heels of Susie's passing. And GK reneiging on her visit, and generally feeling needy and stressed all the damn time!

From a distance, being stuck in quicksand may look an awful lot like wallowing in it....

I take it back. There is not enough marzipan in the world.

This morning's message from TUT was absolutely classic!

If I can handle plate tectonics... if I can wrap Saturn in rings... if I can hurl planets into place, and design Milky Ways, moths, and millipedes... just think what I can do for you.

Fluffy, want more.

A lot more.

It opens doors.

Tallyho,
The Universe

No, Fluffy, not the chocolate bar, the galaxy.

Ah, bliss...I got up and out the door EARLY this morning (These days, to me early = 9 AM!) and cruised Winn-Dixie for Easter candy markdowns. The day after a major chocolate-bearing holiday is the best time to shop, and I literally got about fifteen pounds of stuff. Mostly chocolate (Umm, Reese's cups!), but also $3 worth of licorice jelly beans (at 50 cents per 12 oz. bag) and the obligatory Peeps. I'm gonna have a tongue like a chow dog for weeks and a sugar buzz til June, at least....

A couple of weeks ago, I accidentally grabbed a Hershey's Special Dark Espresso bar instead of a basic Special Dark. You can ask anyone who knows me, I don't DO coffee. Never have. Don't even like the smell of it, usually. Except they seem to have made these Espresso bars with some kind of chocolate crack, bcuz I'm hooked on them, to the point that when I stop in at S'lven for gas or a drink or whatever, I grab a bar or two or three for the road.

This afternoon on my break, I ran across the parking lot to Walgreens for batteries---the one in my MP3 player went DOA on me---and found they had Espresso Kisses. Snagged two bags and did a victory dance. Yum!
