I'm a mess

I don't know what I did to my shoulder---slept on it wrong, I guess---but it hurt badly enough this afternoon that I could hardly move. Finally managed to pop my arm, which helped, took plenty of anti-inflamatories, and hopefully it won't get worse/recur tomorrow.

I can't afford this shit! (Not to mention I'm worried I'll get in trouble for it, attendance-wise.)

They were running S1 eps of House on Oxy tonight, so I got to see my favorite ep, Cursed, again. Yay, Rowan Chase! (I've loved Patrick Bauchau for ages!) Also caught a CSI: Miami ep with Richard Speight Jr, aka, Trickster from SPN or Deputy Bill from Jericho. Speaking of Jericho alums, the other deputy is in a commerical for WaMu bank, and the chick who was Heather showed up in Sons of Anarchy (which I am loving!).

Pimping without spoilers: Sons of Anarchy is quite cool. The cast is solid: Ron Perlman actually gets to act without prosthetics, Katey Segal, whom I never liked before (I hated Married With Children), is perfect here as a motorcycle mama grandma who combines maternal nurturing with savage maternal protectiveness. Her son (nobody I know, but he's good in the part) has just become a father---he's tender-hearted compared to the rest of the gang. Other cast includes the guy who was Jim Gordon's corrupt partner in Batman Begins, our sweet young thing from Jericho, Bill Lucking (who I've had a thing for since roughly 1975), and Mitch Pileggi. It's on FX, so yeah, there's violence and bad language, but so far, it's all been well executed, no pun intended, and I've set my DVR for it.

Off to bed now.... *yawn*

Criminal Minds
Equilibrium
House, M.D.
Janet Evanovich
Jericho
Pirates of the Caribbean (CotBP only)
Pitch Black / Riddick
Supernatural

I was going to order in pizza tonight, but the website of the conglomerate whose products I usually consume was FUBAR, so it was cream cheese and rye bread for dinner, ho-hum.

Didn't get around to touching up my roots, and now it's awfully late.

I liked House MD tonight...it had some weird and wonderful moments. The scene with Cam rehearsing her rebuttal in the locker room with Chase commenting struck me as odd, but that may be because of what was going on IRL and the RPF I devoted to it. The bit with Wilson and witchhunts made me bray with laughter. If I had any energy to devote to it, I'd contemplate a fic where a wanna-be patient approaches House (thinking he's warm and cuddly) on the basis of that documentary.

I hope this week is nice and mellow; it's been a while since I had anything like this schedule....

The nice thing about my long intermission from House---what everyone else is experiencing as reruns is fresh meat to me. Okay, maybe it's ground chuck instead of prime sirloin, but it's still okay for chili. Granted, I know who's going to make the eventual cut; I'm still enjoying the process. I know, it's not Grade A as in seasons past, but it has its moments. And Chase as bookie? Priceless.

Dropped car off at Carguy's to have tailpipe fixed properly because the baling-wire-and-bubble-gum method of securing it had me decidedly insecure. Had Kat pick me up there, grabbed lunch, went and got car after, cost $50.

CUUPs meeting at church, showed the documentary "Spooked", about Waverley Hills, a former TB sanitorium that is supposedly the most haunted place in the world. Grim.

Ass on couch for House MD finale, which was intense, but probably a lot more so for y'all who have been watching it regularly all along. No, the thing that got me was the CSI: Miami cliffhanger, which I totally did NOT see coming. I'm going to be biting my nails all summer, even worse than for SPN, which is saying something!

EDIT: Spoilers in comments.

Title: Be Careful What You Wish For
Author: [livejournal.com profile] vanillafluffy
Pairing: Chase/House, Chase/Wilson
Rating/Work-safeness: R for coersion and semi-non-con
Approximate word count: 2800
Disclaimer: If I owned any of these guys, I'd be too busy elsewhere to write fan-fic. Any recognizable characters belong to David Shore and Fox TV.
Summary: Spoilers for the Season One Vogler arc. This is the kink follow-up to "Babies and Bathwater". Wilson is as dark here as he is in Season Three. Another version of Chase-punishment is here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3170269/1/. (They begin almost identically, then veer in wildly different directions. Schizophrenic much?)

This story was written for the fiction costume party at [livejournal.com profile] karaokegal's. It may be cross-posted elsewhere. Gen, no pairings, PG-13ish. Super-duper beta by [livejournal.com profile] mojavedragonfly---any mistakes are my own blonde fault.

Crack-smoking crossover with willful violation of multiple canons ahead. Okay, maybe not outright violation, maybe just a little gratuitous molestation. All recognizable characters contained herein are the property of various individuals and corporations, none of whom are me, and none of which I represent in any way, shape or form. (I don't own House MD, Supernatural or The Burning Zone.)

TITLE: Living in the Past
AUTHOR:[livejournal.com profile] vanillafluffy
PAIRING: Gen
RATING: Not even PG
DISCLAIMER: The characters are owned by David Shore and FOX TV, not me.
SUMMARY: A person's home tells a story about the person who lives there, if you read between the lines. A tour of the ducklings' domiciles. The first two vignettes are fairly canon...I don't think they've ever showed Chase's place, so that section is completely my surmise. It's more like a series of snapshots than actual stories.

When they aren't at PPTH, where are they? )

Even baby plot bunnies can attack without warning. In evidence, I offer this Chase drabble-and-a-half, a scant 150 words of kamikaze cuteness.

One morning in the conference room, everything came to a screeching halt... )

Have I ever mentioned that I really liked Jesse Spencer in "Swimming Upstream"...?

Grr, a Tuesday night without House? What's the world coming to?

I had an absolutely crack-smoking brilliant idea for a crossover today: What if the latest addition to the staff at PPTH was Psychiatrist Jonathan Crane? House vs. Scarecrow...OMG, the possibilities!

I don't have time to write it. Pity.

Today Kathy gave me the secret of making good corn bread--DON'T stir all the lumps out of it. It's okay to use a beater on the liquid ingredients, but do it before adding them to the corn meal mixture and only use as much liquid is absolutely necessary. It worked! This batch didn't crumble like the other ones. (The ones made with a hand mixer. Ooops.)

I also hatched my first House slash! It'll be cross-posted elsewhere as a song-fic, but here's the bare bones story. It's pretty mild (for me!), but it does display a certain kink of mine.

Wilson is just a teddy bear...in more ways than one. )
